Install SMKV.
Signed APT packages for Ubuntu 24.04, x86-64. Provision your own Linux hosts and use private networking between cluster members. Test your workload before production use.
Add the repository
Requires curl and ca-certificates. The key is scoped to this repository through signed-by.

Configure before starting
Installation does not enable or start services. Server configuration is in /etc/default/smkv; defaults bind to loopback. Configure storage budgets and the cluster map before joining nodes. Then start explicitly with sudo systemctl enable --now smkv.
For the dashboard, configure /etc/default/smkv-web with a management seed and per-node metrics endpoints. It requires a sharded cluster. Keep management ports private.
Upgrade deliberately
Stop the affected service, upgrade its package, then start it explicitly. Package upgrades do not restart services. Review storage compatibility before upgrades or downgrades.
